Project UP
Students were requested to fold paper cranes.
Just cranes and nothing else.
Students willingly obliged. No questions asked. Maybe not. "How do you do that?" was definitely most asked.
When a sufficient number of cranes were made, they were strung up.
While behind closed doors, student library monitors were working on another part of the same project - a miniature house, just like the one in the movie Up. Together, this is what became of Project UP, hanging magnificently down from the ceiling in the middle of the SIC.
Project Up, according to an initial student survey, was voted the most liked activity in the SIC thus far. For many, this was the first time they ever folded a crane! It was too complex a task for some who eventually gave up. Fortunately, we have enough people who persevered and completed their cranes.
Students enjoyed the collaborative spirit and felt included in the school community.
"We want more large projects like UP that involves more students."
