Girls vs Boys Chess

For the past few weeks, there has been a unique opportunity for students to experience chess in a new light. There has been an ongoing game of chess in the SIC between boys and girls, competing to see who comes on top!

But it isn’t just any ordinary chess game; it involves an unusual twist. Each individual can only make a maximum of three moves per day, making the experience all the more challenging.

Excitement abound as the game progresses with this multi-player game. Extensive discussions were made before careful moves were executed and documented.

The winning team scores one point per game. The boys were visibly competitive and strategic. With a few Chess Club members in their team, they had the advantage.

Here is the overall score after 10 days of play.

All participants in the winning team were put into a draw and the three lucky winners were Sunny Sethi (9CTS), Oliver Cao (7DIV) and Jack Julian (DIM). They each won a chess set so that they can further hone their chess skills at home.

The chess table has become in those few days so much part of the SIC that students have begged for it to stay, even after the competition was over. As of today, it is still well used for casual chess.
