20th Century History Timeline
A mega size history timeline spanning one hundred years now adorn a wall in the SIC. Eager students from 2016 class of 9GEN and 9PAC, under the guidance of their humanities teacher, Mr Brian Divall, created this spectacle.
Students were assigned a year each to research on. They had the freedom to choose what to write about.
Consequently, the timeline featured obviously important political events, ...
disasters (natural or otherwise), ...
Science and discoveries, ...
and even light hearted matters closer to the hearts of teenagers.
"The timeline is about raising student awareness of the world changing events of the incredible twentieth century. This century was a period of rapid change never seen before in human history," Mr. Divall said.
When asked what students get out of this collaborative project, he said that students who contributed gained a sense of teamwork and organization that is key to success as a historian.
Not only did this project benefit the students directly involved, the entire school population can now learn a thing, or a hundred, about their world in the twentieth century.
