6 Word Stories

For two weeks, students have been standing at the noticeboard reading intently. What's up?

A college wide 6 Word Story Contest has created a stir. Interest was heightened with reading each other's entries. A snowball of inspiration resulted in about 170 entries by closing date.

Winners were picked based on votes by staff after an initial shortlisting by Mrs Mazengarb and Mrs Roas. Congratulations to the following students with their winning entries:

First prize: Joshua Wang (6JNZ) - “Her first word. Her mother's last.”

Second prize: Alexander U’Ren (SMI) - “She was newly wed, he wasn't.”

Third prize: James He (RAO) - “They won't remember. They're still young.”

and

Jessica Wu (SAW) - “But she never got the ring.”

This contest was held in conjunction with a feature display of books on the art of writing. Read more about that in another post here.
